Head of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Mojtaba Khosrowtaj emphasized the important role of development in the country’s machinery industry stating “over 90% of the country’s demands in the sector are supplied by domestic companies as the country’s dependence on imports is lower than 10 per cent.”
The official said in the first three months of the present year, 38 million dollars of machinery products were exported to international markets six million dollars of which belonged to agricultural machinery.
He estimated that, if the present rate of growth is maintained, a significant increase in exports will be observed by the end of the year as comparted to a year earlier.
Khosroqtaj added that Iran's Trade Promotion Organization paid due attention to machinery industry and seeks to investigate and eliminate major barriers to exports of its products.
The official urged the banking system to provide exporters with necessary guarantees upon receiving advance payments from foreign buyers.
Deputy Iranian industry minister also noted that marketing for industrial machineries required participation in specialized exhibitions and called for the government’s support of domestic manufacturers.
